Conservation in Action

Excellent effort from our Year 7, 8 and 9 tree planting teams. 80 students from Sir John Lawes School taking part to nurture their local environment. Year 7 started off the day of tree planting at Batford Springs in collaboration with Harpenden Town Council. The teams working collaboratively to plant as many trees as possible in their time slots.

In total helping to plant around 600+ hedgerow trees!

Did you know over 60 species of nesting bird, many hundreds of invertebrates and almost all of our native small mammal species have been recorded as being supported by hedgerows?
