Trust Concert 2023
Posted on 16/03/2023On Tuesday 14 March the third ever Scholars’ Education Trust Concert took place at The Alban Arena in St Albans. The concert brought together all the current schools in the trust: Sir John Lawes School, Samuel Ryder Academy, Robert Barclay Academy, Harpenden Academy and Priory Academy, and in true collaborative spirit they performed an exciting and eclectic mix of music and dance. From Never Enough - The Greatest Showman to Six the Musical, ‘Matilda’ the musical to a Lion King Medley, the concert was an exhilarating showcase of the depth and breadth of performing art talent within the trust.
Claire Robins, CEO Scholars' Education Trust, highly praised the concert "I was so proud of our Scholars’ Education Trust pupils last night. This was our 3rd Trust Concert and the way it has grown over the years is just amazing. We had several hundred children from the age of 6 to 18 playing, singing and dancing together and sharing in the creativity that a strong performing arts offer can provide. In SET we believe that the arts are a fundamental part of a broad and balanced curriculum and the enjoyment demonstrated by the young people on the stage last night showed how true that is. Our only worry is that, with so many performers keen to take part, we may have to look for a bigger venue next year!
And, of course, what a wonderful reflection of the dedication of our SET performing arts staff who went above and beyond to make the event possible - on top of delivering brilliant lessons everyday. Our pupils are lucky to have them!"
What an amazing display of talent from our pupils at this year's Scholars' Education Trust Concert! Thanks to all the students and staff involved in making the evening a sensational night. It’s evenings like this we truly appreciate the power of being part of a trust.
