SRA achieve RHS Level 1 School Gardening Award

Posted on 22/05/2023

Samuel Ryder Academy were overwhelmed by the generosity of parental and community donations to the request for equipment for our new eco garden – thank you so much to the SRA community!

The first no dig bed, council circle and mulch pathways are complete after hard work by our students and staff. Bee friendly wildflowers have been planted in old tyres which were fly tipped near our school site and collected by some parents kindly doing a litter pick. Yesterday, our eco-committee started planting our donated herbs.

It is fantastic to see so many students taking part in the eco-committee and enjoying being out in the garden.

Having started our journey on developing our eco garden, we’re really excited to have achieved Level 1 School Gardening Award with the RHS!
