Empowering our Year 13 Students for Their Future
Posted on 21/09/2023Over the past two weeks, The Hemel Hempstead School Year 13 students have been treated to a series of truly inspiring talks, providing them with invaluable insights into the myriad of paths that lie ahead. These engaging discussions have been delivered by a remarkable trio of speakers, each with their own unique journey towards success.
First and foremost, we had the privilege of hosting a student who is pursuing a dual degree in English and French Law at the esteemed Birmingham University. Their insights into the world of academia and the rigors of a double major have opened our students' eyes to the possibilities that await them in higher education.
But the inspiration didn't stop there. We were also fortunate to welcome back two of our former students who have blazed their own trails in the world since leaving HHS.
One of our alumni members chose to dive straight into industry whilst studying a degree on a day release programme. Their story is a testament to the power of determination and hard work, as they have now become a shining example of success. Their journey has shown our students that sometimes, taking that leap into the professional world can lead to remarkable achievements.
The second former student we had the privilege to hear from secured a coveted spot in a highly competitive apprenticeship programme at the BBC. Today, they proudly hold the position of a successful Business Advisor. Their path exemplifies the value of hands-on experience and structured learning opportunities.
These talks couldn't have come at a more pivotal point in our Year 13 students' lives. These insights have provided our students with a clearer picture of the diverse paths they can pursue, equipped with knowledge, motivation, and the belief that they can achieve greatness.
It has truly been an inspiring few weeks, and we couldn't be prouder to witness the flourishing journeys of our ex-students. Their stories remind us all that success is attainable through perseverance, passion, and the pursuit of one's dreams.
As our Year 13 students continue to navigate their academic and career choices, we look forward to seeing the remarkable achievements they will undoubtedly accomplish in the future.
