Fabio's Gelato Pitch Competition
Posted on 06/03/2024Fabio and Hannah from the amazing Fabio’s Gelato in Letchworth and Hitchin visited The Highfield School last week for the annual “pitch a new ice-cream flavour” Year 7 competition.
Year 7 students really excelled this year with fantastic ideas, from FA Cup ice creams, through Cherry Blossom Sorbet to Blubbery Blast. Not only did students come up with excellent flavours, but they also prepared wonderful presentations and they delivered them with confidence, enthusiasm and professionalism.
Hannah and Fabio were really impressed stating: “We love being part of this project and take so much inspiration from the students' presentations- it's not easy standing up in front of that many people to present! They were all fabulous.”
Well done to all our semi-finalists: Liam, Chris, Harry and Toby; Isla and Chloe; Tom, Rheo and Freddie; and Isaac, Jacob and Joshua.
And congratulations to our winners who all received £5 Fabio’s Gelato vouchers:
3rd place – Daffodil Delight by Malachy, Bella-Rose, Ruby and Ameya
2nd place – Sorbet Selection by Keira, Tiana, Daniel and Olly
1st place – Berry Blossom Bliss by Reuben and Alex
A special mention also goes to Tom, Rheo and Freddie who have inspired Hannah and Fabio with their Springfield Squashies flavour – watch out for the new the bubble-gum and raspberry squashies flavour when you are next in town!
A big thanks to Hannah and Fabio who come to Highfield every year, helping our students apply their English classroom learning to real-life scenarios.
