The special event brought together students, staff and visitors to celebrate the incredible work of the NSPCC and raise awareness of the charity’s vital mission to support and protect children across the UK. Through dance, discussion and engagement, students gained a greater understanding of the importance of the charity’s work and the positive impact it has on the lives of young people.

The highlight of the morning was an energetic and uplifting dance session led by Janette and Aljaž. Students enthusiastically joined in, learning new moves, building confidence and experiencing the joy that dance can bring. The pair also took time to speak to students about the NSPCC’s work, encouraging them to understand the importance of looking out for one another and knowing where to turn for support when needed.

Mr Christopher Amoss, of Samuel Ryder Academy, said:

“We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the NSPCC, Janette and Aljaž to Samuel Ryder Academy. The energy, enthusiasm and positivity they brought to our school were truly infectious. It was wonderful to see our students engaging so wholeheartedly with the activities while learning about the crucial role the NSPCC plays in supporting children and young people.

Events such as this help to raise awareness of important issues in a way that is engaging, memorable and inspiring. We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved for creating such a special experience for our students.”

Students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to dance alongside professional performers and hear firsthand about the work being carried out by the NSPCC to ensure children feel safe, supported and empowered.

The event reflects Samuel Ryder Academy’s ongoing commitment to promoting student wellbeing, fostering confidence and supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people.

The academy would like to extend its sincere thanks to the NSPCC, Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec for an unforgettable morning and for helping to inspire the next generation through the power of dance and community.
