LFCWSC Street Art
Posted on 16/06/2023Quoted from a LFCW match day programme:
There has been an explosion of street art around Liverpool Football Club’s famous Anfield home in recent years, depicting many of the men’s teams players and legends - but now the LFC women’s team are represented with the fabulous depiction of the local girl living out her footballing dreams. The player in question, Missy Bo Kearns, admitted she was speechless after becoming the subject of the first Liverpool FC Women’s mural around Anfield.
Commissioned by the Liverpool FC Women Supporters Club (LFCWSC) and funded by the Welcome Back Fund with support from Your Housing Group, the image on Tancred Road shows a young fan looking up at Missy Bo lifting the FA Women’s Championship trophy. Jo Goodall, the LFCWSC Chairperson said “We saw an image with a little Missy Bo looking up at herself and we thought that it'd be a nice inspiration to use for a new fan now looking at Missy Bo as her hero. The girl in question, Bryony R-W, travelled up from Hertfordshire with her family and managed to get the day off school for the unveiling. She's absolutely buzzing and it's incredible that she and Bo can get some photos with the mural together.”
Bryony is a massive Liverpool Fan and has been avidly following the LFC Women’s Team all around the country since 2017. In that time she has developed a close bond with many of the players and staff. Missy Bo Kearns has always been her favourite player, so this experience really is a dream come true.
