Priory Academy Gains Green Flag Status
Posted on 20/09/2024The Priory Academy eco-committee have worked extremely hard over the last academic year which has meant that we have been awarded our distinction green flag award. The Green Flag is awarded to recognise the ecological achievements of young people at Priory Academy. To be awarded the Green Flag, at Priory, the students worked in groups to create an eco-garden (this was then judged as a part of Dunstable in Bloom). They created posters and a newspaper highlighting some key sustainable issues.Students also worked hard at a litter picking initiative and are in the process of creating a collage. All of these activities had to connect with the Ten Eco-Schools Topics in order to be considered. Some of the ten topics include: litter, healthy living, waste, water and energy. The students at Priory have shown real commitment to sustainability and a willingness to promote change that will positively affect our planet.
