Diana Award Anti-Bullying Programme

Posted on 12/11/2024

IMG 0180We are proud to announce that The Highfield School have gained their first badge from The Diana Award.

The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Programme, is a charity which was set up in memory of the late Diana, Princess of Wales and her belief that young people have the power to change the world. It raises awareness of bullying behaviour and supports schools and empowers young people to tackle it.

Last Year 10 of our Anti Bullying Ambassadors attended a training day to equip them with the knowledge and skills to implement this programme in school. Since then, the Ambassadors have been working tirelessly and we are delighted to announce that we have achieved the Inclusion badge – this demonstrates that as a school we champion diversity and inclusion and promote equal rights for the nine protected characteristics.

Evie-Mae and Cameron from Year 11 have been part of the anti-bullying campaign since they were in Year 7 and currently lead the programme within school.  Evie-Mae says “it has been a pleasure to be part of such a powerful campaign, Princess Diana’s legacy was all about caring for others and making sure the well-being of all students in the UK was looked after, and we have worked so hard to carry that out in our school. I am so proud of all of the students who have worked with Cameron and I to complete the inclusion badge and we are committed to continuing this work with a view to gaining the wellbeing and community badges”.
