Robert Barclay Academy were delighted to host the first-ever Trust Debating Competition, bringing together students from across our schools for an inspiring showcase of speaking, listening and critical thinking.

Throughout the event, students explored important contemporary issues with confidence, respect and intellectual curiosity, demonstrating the power of debate to develop thoughtful, articulate and informed young people. The quality of discussion and argument on display was a credit to every participant.

As the inaugural competition, the event marks the start of what we hope will become an annual Trust tradition, providing even more opportunities for students to develop their communication skills, share their perspectives and learn from one another.

We are incredibly proud of all those who took part and grateful to colleagues across the Trust for their support in making this first competition such a memorable success. We look forward to welcoming students back next year for another fantastic celebration of student voice and debate.
